Ganapathi S. Lakshminarayanan is a proven technology leader who joins the company with over 28 years of international management experience, across complex business-to-business (B2B) environments, leading tech consultancies, and leading infrastructure businesses in India.

A Legacy Built in Telecom and Software

This will bring a fresh infusion of the deep telecom expertise of Ganapathi S. Lakshminarayanan and enterprise software expertise into the fold. His industry experience dovetails nicely with the company’s long-term plans for faster global digital services delivery and a doubling in data revenue pipelines, industry analysts stress.

Prior to joining Tata Communications, he helped build the company’s huge presence across the region as the Managing Director and Group Vice President of India and SAARC at ServiceNow. His vision on the strategic level made the automated workflow entity an integral part of running local enterprises.

Based on his extensive leadership experience, there are some leadership roles which are directly related to India’s network communications ecosystem:

  • Bharti Airtel: Was responsible for Airtel Business as its CEO in India and for the main Enterprise Business unit. His ability to scale tightly coupled enterprise connectivity networks and deploy high impact digital services was a major asset.

  • Industry Councils: He served twice on the National Co-ordinating Executive Council of NASSCOM, and is actively involved in the various Industry Councils within FICCI on a national platform.

  • Academic Achievements: Gold Medal Graduate of Guindy Engineering College in Computer Science and Engineering and MBA with high distinction from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Shaping the Future of Connectivity Architecture

Enterprise requirements are quickly changing from point-to-point data connections. Currently, Tata Communications is transitioning to further consolidate its presence in a digitally integrated world across global spectrums and communication systems that are cloud first.

Under the leadership of Ganapathi S. Lakshminarayanan, the organization is well-positioned to manage its infrastructure deployments when growth is on the horizon. As the trusted expert in providing large scale B2B modernization and creating robust global business structures, he will play a key role in helping the telecom infrastructure major establish a strong foothold in the global connectivity landscape.
